Head Chef - Parasol & Swing Company

The Parasol & Swing Company is looking for a new head chef to join our family. We are a high volume restaurant and bar in a newly built two level venue overlooking the Viaduct. The actual kitchen you will work in, aside from being all new, has a beautiful view of the water and the Viaduct Harbour. The venue has only been open a couple of months and already we have been featured in the Denizen, Viva in The Herald, Viva Online, Urban List, Concrete Playground, The Shout, Heart of the City, and Paperboy. Aside from the quality exposure, you will get to prepare a menu designed by a local celebrity chef, Mark Southon. The style of food is high end casual, with a menu that features sections dedicated to burgers, waffles, and sharing plates. The style of cuisine is Californian/Asian Fusion, but you can visit our Facebook page to see the menu and some imagery.

We are looking for someone with either head or sous level experience who can; manage rosters and staff levels, manage stock control and ordering, handle our high volume and high standards while leading those on their staff by good example. We also need someone creative who can work with us, and Mark on new menus, ongoing seasonal specials, and who is interested in working with our cocktail competition winning bar team to create interesting food and drink combinations for specials and future events. There is also the potential for the right person to carry on with the company into other venues and a more executive position.

We do require applicants to already have a valid Visa and be in NZ.
