Rare Fitter/Welder/Turner/ Maintenance Tradesperson? - GlenSide Engineering

Enjoy a varied role working on bespoke projects; many one-off.  You’ll build material handling systems which are designed to solve production issues.  You’ll work with a great bunch of guys who enjoy going to work and an appreciative employer. 

You’ll be involved from the beginning to the end of the process, welding a range of metals, utilising electric Arc, MIG and TIG and oxy-acetylene methods, also producing parts to fit the product. Once assembled you’ll install and provide ongoing maintenance and repair. 

To really thrive in the role you’re likely to:

  • Have 5-10 years welding experience, can read drawings and apply fine welding techniques
  • Be skilled working with mild and stainless steel using electric Arc, MIG and TIG or oxy-acetylene methods
  • Possess broad experience across fitting and turning/welding-fitting
  • Have experience with a range of metalworking machinery
  • Have a quality focus enabling you to produce a product fit for handling food production
  • Have a real interest in how things work, you’re not just joining two surfaces, you’ll really into how what you’re manufacturing will be used
  • Be a problem solver with a bit of ‘inventor’ in you, with ideas on how things can be improved
  • Perhaps have experience as a Maintenance Engineer, so you know how machines work
