Commercial Finance Manager - Barworks Hospitality Group


An exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to be part of a dynamic and growing industry leader, backed by global business partner Heineken.

Barworks Hospitality Group own and operate 19 bars and restaurants across Auckland and has become recognised as one of New Zealand’s hospitality leaders and innovators. 

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead the group’s finance team and will be an integral part of the leadership team. This broad and often hands-on role requires a highly organized and systematic person with strong commercial experience and a willingness to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Timely and relevant monthly financial and board reporting
  • Budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning
  • Cash flow planning and analysis
  • Development and overseeing of internal control procedures
  • Liaising with external auditors
  • Oversee Statutory and Tax compliance
  • Preparing, analysing and delivering meaningful information to key stakeholders
  • Manage technology requirements of the Finance Team
  • Preparation and evaluation of investments business cases.
  • Manage a team of 7 direct reports 

Skills and experience required:

  • A qualified CA with at least 5 years PQE in a senior finance role.
  • A leader with a track record of developing people.
  • Proven commercial experience and business acumen in a multi-site business.
  • Broad knowledge across Finance, IT and Payroll, including ability to provide best practice recommendations
  • A highly motivated individual with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Excellent analytical skills with a structured approach to problem solving.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
